HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED IN THE PAST 2 YEARS?
Two years ago I was just about to be hired in at CBC as Vinnie's assistant. I was working at Gap, and teaching about half the amount of students I currently have, and volunteering at CBC (still getting over the loss of Aaron). I was in the planning process to begin work on my record project and looking forward to a 2 week vacation with my family over Christmas. My hair was shorter and straighter and more blonde than it is now. I was a lot less bold (and I think confident) in my clothing choices (I don't get near as many panic attacks about choosing outfits).
I learned a lot about being a worship director while working with Vinnie - things I would not have learned while working with Aaron. We were so polar opposites that someone would have to dramatically cave on pretty much every decision. I took great steps on my journey to become a less uptight person as I submitted to his leadership. I also found my eyes being opened to different philosophies of worship ministry than I had been accustomed.
Spiritually, I've grown in the area of "not my will, but Yours". This sort of ties back with the being a less uptight person. I've learned (and am still learning) how to let go of my plan in the little day to day things and allow God to work - often through surprising circumstances or through the opinions/decisions of others.

Wow. What a great exercise to take a look back! It is so clear as I read this post and compare the now Emma with the two years ago Emma, how much you have changed and grown in these last two years. If you ever wonder if you are just spinning your wheels.... you're not!
