let me just say...

God is smiling on me this week.
really.
i am so blessed!

let me just recount my week...

thursday:
- i am stressing b/c my mom/brother are flying in tomorrow and i'm not going to have my weekend to catch up on life. i'm leaving for germany thursday and i have tons of work to do but am not sure how i'm going to get it done b/c i want to hang out with the fam
- find out that i have a 5-page book analysis due tuesday and i don't even have the book. apparently this was in the syllabus and i knew about it...but just flipping forgot...i feel like crying
- search for book at a few places until all business is closed...hope for better luck tomorrow

friday:
- drive to roanoke to pick up family. watch paul have his first dining experience at sonic - truly a novelty.
- stop at Lifeway to look for book. turns out that they had ONE copy left so i prayed a prayer of thanksgiving and purchased the book
- have a great dinner with mom/paul/friends and stayed out too late playing hide and seek in cars...it was super fun tho haha!

saturday:
- go to walmart with mom/paul and let mom buy me lots of stuff i need. let mom/paul help me clean out my car...yeah...
- gather a few friends and sing a song for mom/paul that we learned here. hope that one day said friends will travel to michigan and sing it at my home church :)
- have a near breakdown due to all the stress of gathering people/the ever present thought of all the schoolwork i'm not doing...

sunday:
- take mom/paul to thomas road and then let them take me out to lunch :) drive them back to roanoke in the growing nasty weather and say goodbye
- drive back to campus in the now snowy weather and begin working on book analysis
- find out around 7pm that the university is closed tomorrow due to the snow (all 5 inches of it). laugh heartily and shout THANK YOU to God!
- turn down invite to the movies to keep working on paper (yes mom. be proud!)

monday:
- sleep late (til 9. yes. so late!)
- practice for germany and work on book analysis, all the while worried about finishing my paper, my theory arranging project due before i leave, the musicianship test i am unprepared for, the studio class at which i am supposed to play my unperfected Debussy piece, the lack of practice time i will have to prepare, trying to find time to practice with my group for my junior recital, scheduling meetings with accompanying people...the list goes on.
- again turn down movie invite to work on paper. sad.
- finally finish book analysis paper. check online and find out the university is opening late tomorrow and the class the paper is for is cancelled.

tuesday:
- skip choir to eat lunch with some friends i didn't see all weekend because of my stupid paper.
- find out i have a midterm in wrsp 102 THIS thursday - the day i leave for germany. talk to prof after class and arrange to take it earlier in the day thursday. get really frustrated when i learn that this test will actually require extensive preparation.
- manage to get 20 min in a practice room to run over my Debussy piece for the class that night
- work on theory project during break. run into musicianship teacher who announces she's postponing tomorrow's test until after break!!!
- text junior recital group leader to find out when we're rehearsing. he texts back and says we have to call off rehearsal b/c 2 people have to play at the studio class. haha.
- play at studio class and don't embarass myself! yes!

t-minus 2 days till germany!
i'm so excited but seriously still have so much to do! so i'm gonna go get on that right now...
