Roy spent practically his whole life living on a ranch out in the country. he has a shotgun above the TV along with a pistol and some fancy knives. he also has '69 chevelle in the garage that he calls his "baby". Norma loves to paint and even has a studio in the back of the house with all sorts of artwork and unique frames. Unfortunately she doesn't do it much anymore because she's had a couple of strokes and her fine motor skills aren't what they used to be. Nevertheless, her artwork is hung all over the house and it's clear that she has a gift!
I am happy to say that the trip to the sandhills has been cancelled!!! we're having a pool party instead lol! no one wanted to run the risk of students getting heat stroke so the pool sounded like a better option than the dunes - i really need to get a new baithing suit...ick.
mark and i worked a full day thursday and then yesterday we had the day off (friday is the youth staff's day off) and then today we only worked half a day. i'm sort of hoping the whole summer isn't going to be like this...there's not a whole lot to do and it's kind of boring sitting at the house all day. given - i haven't met many people yet or had a chance to make any friends. we'll see how the next week plays out. we have a week of work and then we're off to new mexico for high school camp so hopefully i'll connect with some people there. i just don't do well with idle time :)
so yeah. if you're praying for me (and i'd really appreciate it if you would ;)), pray that 1) i would prioritize and have a hunger for spending time in the Word, 2) that i would have "just enough" idle time ;) and 3) that i would be able to form some good friendships.
love and thanks!!!
see that white spot at the bottom...the hottest spot in the country right now...yeah that's me.

sounds like a lovely couple to host you in their home! very kind of them to ask you what your favorite foods are! (hug)
i hate getting new swim suits. ugh.
I miss you Sniffles! But I'm so glad that you're enjoying yourself in the sultry metropolis of Odessa...it sounds a lot like my hometown. I'm praying for you and love you and miss you very much! I'm proud of what you're doing and can't wait to see how the LORD is going to work in you and through you in this unique opportunity.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Josh
