perspective

well it was a semi-productive weekend. i got most everything done on my list. and i thoroughly enjoyed the quiet house ;)

this whole 4th-of-july-on-a-wednesday thing is really messing with my schedule this week. i had to move all my wednesday piano students to tuesday so tomorrow i have eleven (11) lessons. whew! fortunately i was smart enough to schedule some breaks for myself so i don't lose my mind!

taking wednesday off means that i will most likely have to work friday to catch up on all the church stuff that needs to get done. it's really hot at the church since they don't run the air everywhere during the week. maybe i'll bring a fan. [side note: so stoked for fall at cbc!]

did you know there are 1 million people in the state of virginia without power??? it's been off since this weekend and is not expected to be back on until after the 4th. did you know it is over 100 degrees and super-humid?
did you know that wildfires in colorado are destroying homes and killing people? and that it was declared a national emergency?
i try to think of that every time i feel hot while i'm walking from my air conditioned car to my air conditioned house.

i watched batman with paul tonight instead of prepping for my lessons tomorrow.
guess i better go prep. gotta be well-rested for my kiddos :)
