practicum praise!

so one of the requirements for my program is a 10-week internship. prior to that internship, i have to complete 2 semester-long practicums, which are basically mini-internships. basically just gets you involved in the worship ministry at a church doing different things so you can get some experience under your belt. ideally you do the internship the summer between junior/senior year and do the practicums prior to that during your junior year. and technically this is my junior year...so...i figured i'd better do a practicum.

the fun part about this is that they don't place you. you have to go find a place to do this on your own. i'm not against this at all, but it was proving to be a little difficult considering i'd just moved here and had zero connections. a few of my professors had opportunities at their churches, but they were either super small baptist churches or an hour drive away. so i contacted one church i'd visited and liked and didn't get any response. then my roommate told me about a church her boyfriend had attended last year so i checked them out online. they had a great website so i was immediately interested. i contacted them not really expecting to hear anything, but thought it was worth a shot. within 24 hours i heard back from them and they wanted to meet me and sit down and talk. so friday i went and met the arts director and worship leader at blue ridge community church and they said i could get involved with their ministry and do my practicum there!

i am so amazed at how God worked everything out! the odds were clearly not on my side, but still He directed me where to go. He shut the door at the first church and clearly opened the door at Blue Ridge. to me, this was just another reminder that i am where He wants me to be and He will provide for me every step of the way.

Yep, I've been watching that happening alot lately...You might want to journal these occurrances for those days when things just don't seem to be coming together, then you can remember the times that you clearly experienced God's hand and rest in that.
