protector

so this past weekend i went to church with 4 of my friends (see pic below). i drove since i invited them all and we were going to my church.

i had told everyone times to either meet me or be ready to be picked up and as i figured everyone was running 5 min behind. by the time we got to pick up the last girl, she was no where to be found. i texted her and turns out she'd overslept and said that if we waited 5 min she'd be right out. we were already running late but decided to wait for here. finally we were on our way. but then we hit another roadblock when our road was shut down because of an accident and we had to take a detour.

yesterday my friend jessica (one who was in that group) called me because she learned some details about that accident. turns out an older man on a moped had a heart attack or something and lost control and ended up on the other side of the expressway and was hit by an oncoming car. crazy! the man was killed and the woman in the other car had to be airlifted to the hospital. we spent a few minutes praying for those individuals and then moved on with our day.

then today i was talking with jessica and sarah-marie (another girl in the group) and sarah-marie said "jessica, what if you were late on purpose?" we looked at her confused and she said "like, if you had been on time, we could've been in that accident!"

oh.
my.
gosh.

my heart pretty much stopped when she said that. my parents have always harpped on me about the responsibility that comes with driving other people around and it hit me that i was driving that morning. i had four other lives in my hands and when i'm running late i'm not always as sharp as i should be. it became very apparent to me that God's hand was on our vehicle Sunday morning.

i still get chills when i think about it!

Gosh Emma, what a thought! I'm so thankful for God's hand protecting you all. (and your friends look like a nice bunch!)
