i love biblical novels.
they speak to me and i learn so much more than i do from reading non-fiction.
i have read francine rivers' lineage of grace books several times and have recently gotten into the sons of encouragement series. these books are short, but i quickly blow through them because they are so good!
diving into the story of Aaron gave me a fuller scope of God's holiness and my sinfulness. the story of Jonathan reminded me of the importance of being grounded in and passionate about the Word as a person in leadership.
observation about myself: when i read a book that is just phenomenal, i don't hesitate to recommend it to others. but when people recommend books to me, i am hesitant to read them - often because they are nonfiction and i've discouraged myself enough times by my inability to finish/glean from a nonfiction book that they don't really get me excited. and then i feel guilty.
i really do love to read.
and right now God is teaching me things through these short stories so i'm going to enjoy it :)
