goo hording

my big accomplishment for today was going through the excessive amount of toiletries that i have accumulated and not finished in the past 8ish years and realizing that yes, i do have enough beauty products to last me quite a long time. if only the beauty product marketing people weren't so good at their job and didn't promise me such wonderful and different results from the products i already have and make me think i NEED their product. i truly am a sucker for marketing :/

i knew i had too much lotion. it's a popular, easy thing to give as gifts. plus i almost always take the sample from hotel rooms. i have been on the quest to use up the lotion for a while and thought i was doing good. this was all that was left and they were all half gone.

but then i found this guy. 16oz full. sheesh. 

also, came across an array of hair care products. ranging from different kinds of shampoo for different uses and all sorts of products to make your hair curly or straight or thick or whatever.

and then there are the NON-lotion skin care products. body wash, face wash, stuff to make your face not dry, stuff to make your face not oily, stuff to put under your makeup, stuff to take your makeup off. it's all quite ridiculous.  

oh, and this is all non-inclusive of the nail care items, the eye care items, the tooth care items, and of course one must have a travel-size of everything :/

and so, my confession today is that i.am.a GOO HORDER! for more on the common problem of goo-hording, check out this video which describes it clearly, along with some other weird but common girl problems. (warning: language!) 

bottom line - no more beauty products for me. if i think i need something, i have a bin of all the "extras" that i MUST check first. i have hopes that one day i will use up everything that i have. the type-a in me loves having the closure of finishing a container of something. it may seem like a silly endeavor, but i will try to make it happen!
